Clay was born and raised in Texas, growing up in small town on the edge of the Caprock Canyons, Clay spent his childhood and adolescence surrounded by tough terrain and breathtaking natural beauty, a community of incredible people who look after each other and value hard work. Clay describes his childhood as stereotypically Texan and incredibly lucky, growing up at his grandparents farming and ranching operations in the Texas Panhandle and South Plains, attending Texas Tech University, and working in corporate and foundation event production and interior design before moving towards marketing  experiential design in finance and sales roles at Mood Media and DMX, Inc in Austin, Texas.

Clay has lived in Amarillo, Lubbock, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, but it wasn't until his then-friend (and now-husband) Jimmy invited him to visit Jacksonville that he found himself at home on the First Coast a decade ago. Clay convinced Jimmy to spend the  following summer in San Antonio, but it only took a few months before he had a Florida driver's license - and a new address in Northeast Florida MLS Area 032, Avondale, in Jacksonville. 

Armed with small town values, a deep understanding of historic and luxury homes, design, and marketing, real estate was a natural choice, and Clay quickly found success working with clients in San Marco, San Jose, Avondale, Riverside, the beaches, and across Northeast Florida.

Clay is passionate about investing, interior design, staging, and architecture. He has a significant personal experience in renovations of prewar and midcentury historic homes, and a deep understanding of new construction.  Clay takes pride in his ability to help clients navigate the construction process whether they are building a new home or finding the perfect property to renovate into a masterpiece. Clay has a network of qualified trades and vendors that buyers and sellers need, and access to the best vendors for lighting,  furniture, home decor, and more. 

Clay loves working with clients who are relocating from other states to Florida.

He's helped clients navigate moving to Northeast Florida from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, California, Tennessee, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Canada, France, and even Australia. 

Clay lives in the San Jose neighborhood in Jacksonville with his husband Jimmy, who is on faculty at University of North Florida School of Music. The Halls are proud  supporters of the San Marco Preservation Society,  UNF Foundation, UNF School of Music's Opera and Aria Competition programs, Friday Musicale, and the  Beaches Fine Arts Series.
